Venue, Functions and Exhibition Space Hire
The Fiji Museum hires out its large verandah for functions and events. Overlooking Thurston Gardens and with ample nearby parking, it is the ideal location for The verandah is available for hire during the day and in the evenings and can support a range of uses. Prices for hiring the full verandah, or just half the verandah are available on request and tables and chairs are available for hire at an additional charge.
The Fiji Museum also hires out its Temporary Exhibition spaces for suitable exhibitions. There are two temporary exhibition areas in the Museum. The Art Gallery and the Temporary Exhibition Space, both which offer new exhibitions every three months, enabling a range of artists to exhibit in the space. The Gallery costs $300 per month and you can exhibit a maximum of three months (longer may be possible on request). The exhibitor shall pay all amounts to the Fiji Museum before the opening of an exhibition. We welcome exhibition proposals from artists.
Artists wishing to submit a proposal need to provide the following:
- Images of recent/relevant work preferably in digital format – photographs may be submitted, but not slides. Please also include details of medium, size, length etc. If emailing images please use jpeg format, and keep the images under 500kB so they can be downloaded easily. If this proves difficult, please put your work onto a cd or flash drive.
- A current CV.
- A statement of work.
- If relevant, a proposal of work.
